Mondial Assistance Announces New ScholarTrips Program

Mondial Assistance announces their 2010 travel scholarship program, ScholarTrips, which is available to Richmond area middle and high school students. The new scholarship replaces the Access Abroad scholarship, offered since 2004 to Henrico County middle and high school students. Four recipients will receive scholarships of $2,500 for study abroad programs.

Mondial Assistance Joins Global Partnership for Humanitarian Aid

Mondial Assistance announces its participation in a new global fundraising initiative, aptly named: MASSIVEGOOD. The aim of MASSIVEGOOD is to encourage consumers to make small, voluntary financial contributions (around $2, for example) when they make a travel-related purchase. The funds will be used by UNITAID, a partner organization of the World Health Organization, to combat diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.

Reflecting Americans' increasing exasperation at the pump, the latest Access America Travel Frustration Index - a quarterly barometer that tracks a range of factors that impact both business and leisure travelers - jumped three points in the first quarter of 2008. Almost nine in 10 respondents to the national survey (88%) reported frustration with gas prices, up from 78 percent in late 2007.
